With all of the bashing of Isiah Thomas going on, I want to pose the following question:

Who, right now, is the best former player that is now a GM?

Isiah Thomas - I think we have already decided his fate...

Elgin Baylor - Maybe he could do a better job in the WNBA!

Danny Ainge - The guy needs to make up his mind as to what direction he wants to take this team...Don't get me wrong, I dislike the Celtics a lot, but seeing him ruin this team is just painful to watch!

My BEST 3 would be (in no particular order):

Kiki Vandeweghe, Joe Dumars, and Kevin McHale

Chris Mullin will probably make that list, but the Warriors have to make some waves first before I will consider him.

Of the 3 I named, Vandy stands out more so than the other 2 (and not because we share the same birthday - Aug 1!)...Look at where the Nuggets were before he got there, and look at them now...He had his business plan drawn up from the get-go and should win a championship before it's all said and done.

In a few years I wouldn't be suprised to see John Paxson of the Bulls on that list. He's done extremely well already and seems to have a firm grasp of what it means to be a GM.

All bets are one unit ($50) unless otherwise noted.

John Paxton will make my list, IF AND ONLY IF, he resigns Eddy Curry!

If Eddy Curry's bill of health checks out to be good and all, and Paxton allows Curry to slip away from him, that is going to be a huge blow to his chances of being an elite GM.

That's if Curry can ever live up to his potential. He is a top offensive threat, but his D and rebounding are very poor. He also has been know to have a very poor worth ethic as well. I hope it all turns out for the best as I'd really like him to stay in Chicago, but only if he is not a distraction and puts all his focus on basketball and his team.

Poocano...assuming you are either from the Chicago area or live in that area (based on your picture), would you rather have Curry or Chandler?

I agree that Curry's D hasn't lived up to what everyone thought it could be, but I still think that of the 2, Chandler could have used the college level to imporve his game...
