Looks like we won't be getting an answer today.

Seems Ricky Nixon has pulled Ben's head in a little.

as long as he is inside their salary cap melbourne have dibs. Thumbs up

What's the point in drafting him if he won't play for them... Rolling Eyes

that's not the point.
the point is that if he is eligible he enters into the PSD.
if melbourne decide that they can afford him they have first option on the man.
these are the facts Thumbs up

the facts are slouch they have first choice but if cousins says i want to play with pies dees cant pick him or they will have 1 short on there list

if they do he wont play and they will waste a draft pick eg west coast drafting tim watson

dont hate the player

The PSD is much more lenient than the National Draft. That's the way it is. It's there to help player get to their club of choice just as much as getting re-drafted.

Just look at the Mal Michael incident, Scott Camporeale and so on.

the facts are that PSD picks are not able to be traded and the club that finished last in the season have first crack at anyone in the PSD. the club that finished second-last has second pick.
these are the facts smiddy - take it or leave it!

collingwood apparently sent a PI to investigate and follow cousins around for a few days in perth, they interviewd close friends and police officers. apparently it was all good feedback.

thats classic. collingwood are trying to justify drafting cousins by following him around. lol. gee do you think if the PI chatted to close friends during the trip that they may have tipped cousins off. idiots.

I guess it's a pretty good idea if you're going to take him on. Uou'd want to hope he is somewhat past his addiction if you took him.

As far as I'm concerned, several happening in my life over the last 6 months to a year have softened me up a bit and I look at things quite differently.

I hope he gets another chance whether it be in Victoria, Brisbane, Perth, wherever and turns this around and in to a good story and hopefully gives something back. I actually thought his interview was good yesterday, he spoke well and came across quite intelligently.

I don't think he will because sometimes you need to move on, but I wouldn't mind seeing him back at WCE.

I hear ya Didaka, a few serious experiences can really give a whole new perspective on the small stuff.

I hope the crackhead comes to the Pies, plays like a man possessed, and makes everyone sick.

More media, more Pie hating, more members, more money, and so the world keeps on spinning.

make no mistake smiddy,
if BC makes himself available,
the AFL sign off him being able,
and he enters the PSD,
MFC and only MFC will have first option on the man.
BC saying where he would like to play has little to do with where he ends up.
Chris Judd went to Carlton on the basis that no-one wanted to pay him what Carlton had offered him.
BC is a whole different kettle of fish given that he has been out of the game for twelve months.
if the AFL sign off on him being able,
and BC enters the PSD,
MFC have the first option and hawthorn have the last option.
these are facts, phukhead!

on another note i went to belvedere park, seaford today (the site of the new st. kilda elite training and administration base) and i was impressed to see all the heavy machinery ready to starting ripping the earth to shreds.
apparently there will be four (4) newly surfaced fully-sized ovals (AFL, VFL, etc) plus all the associated buildings and facilities undergoing construction.
Access is via Eastlink, Seaford Road, Brunel Street and finally a side street.
Should be a pretty impressive site when completed.
Proud of the club's vision.

2010 is when the Saints go marching in, to Seaford.

it's not that cut-and-dried phuknut!

melbourne (16th) gets first pick in the pre-season draft.
west coast (15th) get second pick.
fremantle (14th) get third.
port (13th) get fourth.
and so on..

if ben cousins is indeed part of the pre-season draft, melbourne have first option on him or anyone else.

pre-season draft picks are not exchangable.

you are confusing trade week with the pre-season draft.

west coast have second option on him and/or anyone else.
fremantle have third option on him and/or anyone else.
port have fourth option on him and/or anyone else.

ben's preference has nothing to do with it.
period!

if anything the AFL decide on where ben goes before ben himself.
.. these are the facts phuknut!

Slouch. When entering the PSD you can put a price figure on your head which enables you more chance to move to your club of choice. This is why some clubs regrettably trade players cheaply at times.

At most 8 clubs will be involved in the pre-season draft. Club managers are aware of cap restrictions at other teams.

If Ben Cousins wants to play for Collingwood or St. Kilda which he does, they will top end his contract so that only these 2 clubs can gain his services.

Melbourne wouldn't entertain Cousins anyway.

you are missing the point
- any club can afford him.
melbourne have the first chance to get him.
collingwood have the twelfth chance to afford him.
st. kilda have the thirteeth chance to afford him.

these are the irrefutable facts.

ben has absolutely no choice in the matter.
his opinion is meaningless.

he is not a trade
he is not a free agent (there is no such thing as free-agentcy in the AFL)
he is a not a trade.
he is part of the
