Im ON who's with me?? smiddy thinks he is a hasbeen...wrong imo. Reckon Nathan agrees from a comment by him in the live thread. Look at his draw into the quarters..at worst might play roddick in a quarter final or by some miracle davydenko who might make it that far(but unlikely)as he is playing roddick in next couple of rounds...if hewitt stays sound he is a very good chance to make the semis imo. I think he can beat anyone in his section leading up to said semi's berth Winning isnt everything... ITS THE ONLY THING!!

He is capable of going a long way now. Not capable of beating Fed or Murray IMO but can go as far as the semi's i think.

if he plays roddick it wont be easy but he is beatable without question..agree about feds nath, coudlnt beat him im certain..long way off i know but if it panned out that way imagine a hewitt v murray in a semi,oh the pressure for the scot/brit..id give him some hope in that.. of course could also bounce out beforehand as "mr negative" has stated and then ill have to eat my words. anyways smiddy, fire up..what other mens players do we have right now...feck all where's your patriotism, dont let your kicktalk overpower some loyalty fella! I'm on the Hewitt train. Got some German guy in the third round that I havn't heard of before. Gutsy win against Del considering he was supposed to go down but he exposed Del's flaws nicely. I'm on the Sam Stosur train as well. Ivanovic in the third round.

It has taken him a long time to mature mentally, which is why he's doing so well, there is still a bit of stuck up-ness in him but not as much as there used to be. Yes Hewitt was number 1 at one stage but his head got so big was down hill from there, and i'm pretty sure he only got to number 1 because the number 1 at that time before him pulled out can't quite remember but I'm pretty sure thats how he got number 1 years ago. Sports people who have that stuck up ness never works .i.e willy mason and many others. Mundine is the only sports person I see it work with but it's rare . Hewitt should do well but I'd like to see him come down one more level if your a stuck up person in sport you put pressure on ur self and can't think clearly. Good luck hewitt good to see you dropping a level mentally and lifting your game "Just a tipster"

More rubbish from Goofey. Hewitt was number one when Sampras and Agassi were still playing on the tour. I suppose he won Wimbledon and The US Open because nobody turned up. The guy was the best player in the world at one stage, and deserved the tag as well. He was number one because of his determination and will to be number 1, without any real weapons other than tenacity. It took a while for others to learn how to play him, once they worked him out, he was easy to beat as he has no real weapons of note. He does not have a great serve, and his forehand and backhand are solid without being deadly. Banner by Pooc!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fuk6e5hEeYI

unlikely but i think he has more chance then anyone else in the draw i think he can make semi's too but would need to start firing right up to beat fed...i cant see anyone beating him to be honest..murray and djoko some hope but not a lot...call me mad but hewitt CAN give murray a run for his money if he were to get that far to a semi face-off. Winning isnt everything... ITS THE ONLY THING!!

Fair enough, but at least he held the position for a bit longer than Pat Rafter who managed to snag the no.1 spot for just 1 week. Love or hate Hewitt (I am no fan myself), he has done very well, to be a dual grand slam winner, and officially world number 1, in an era where a couple of greats were still playing awesome tennis. also not a fan as such but at the end of the day he is an aussie and he plays with plenty of spirit always,so what if he can be an annoying prick ... very good player over the years and could have been better with decent development of a true weapon.... im also flying the flag for him because we have(had?) NOONE else even in the mens draw...pathetic state of affairs imo. Winning isnt everything... ITS THE ONLY THING!!

CHOO CHOO...easier match tonite, doesnt usually let complacency into his game..onwards he should go stosur playing the attractive choker Ivanovic,if on song she can bully her out of that match tonite too..needs to lift two cogs on rd 2 match however... Winning isnt everything... ITS THE ONLY THING!!
