This is really part 2 of my earlier thread topic about playing against your own team, but I kinda wanted to get everyone's opinions on betting against your favorite teams. I obviously don't like doing it, but sometimes the lines are just so damn tempting!

I am a Washington D.C. fan of the:

Wizards
Capitals
Redskins

Baltimore Orioles
Maryland Terps

I have bet against each one of my teams at some point in my life, including the Orioles tonight....except for the Redskins. I have never even bet against the Skins' in a pre-season game because I could never bring myself to do it. Some of the other gamblers I know how no problem doing it because they say "you just cant bet with your heart", and truthfully its probably the easiest bet to bet against youre own team because you know them so well!

How do you feel about this???

I have bet on or against my favourite teams plenty of times in the past. I don't think it really influences my decisions. If it involves money, I'm pretty cold hearted about it Very Happy

However, I generally prefer not to bet on/against my teams. I'm a sports fan afterall and usually I just want to sit back and watch a game without the added stress.

I have done a good job staying away from most every game involving my teams. I enjoy those games enough without having money involved. Plus if you bet for you team and they lose then it's like getting kicked in the balls twice. I found if I do bet it is on totals instead of sides.

All bets are one unit ($50) unless otherwise noted.

I'm with CD on this, but a word of caution though. Be sure never to put so much on your team that you wouldnt be happy to lose it if they could get the W. Wink It really sucks when you're wrong (FSU over Va. Tech in the ACC championship game, it's a shitty feeling )

its all about the money so forget about your heart loving team when it involves money...people throw love out of the window because of money..people killl because of money and people like steal deceive becasue of money...kinda like all the drug companies...there out to make a buck knowing that drugs harm kill and dis ease people...so in saying that i think if you look at it this way money rules and thats how you look if you are a real gambler....
