Well, my 1st attempt at weight loss was dismal

My 2nd attempt i have gotten serious, been going for 4 weeks this Tuesday coming and i have lost 7kgs.

Have had 4 beers in the last 4 weeks (that was in one night) and havent had a drink in over 2 weeks, run 6k a day, walk 4k and do a weights session each day.

No world records but achieving my 1st target of losing 10kgs is getting closer

I have put a few kg's on this year, but have decided to do something about it. Have started playing mixed netball, which is quite a quick and stop start type of game. Certainly takes a bit out of you.

I walk the dogs 7 km each day, and play tennis each Wednesday night.

Will be playing soccer each Saturday afternoon in a couple of weeks, just the amateurs now, as I am nearing a milestone birthday that I don't want to talk about.

yep the mrs got me to a naturopath the a short time ago as i was becoming biggermaxi.

tricky style diet with some herbs and some protein but going well and down 14.4kg in 6.5 weeks....smiddy - feel like a crack head with all the gear im swallowing at the moment.

trouble is that i cracked some ribs playing footy a few weeks ago so it makes too much exercise painful.
they are on the mend now but running still too painful so stick to the cliff young shuffle for now.

ps - reckon speed benders are the best appetite suppresants.....not too good for the heart though!

Have just been reading the history of this thread...smiddy is right about the five small meals a day...I have held to this with my kids and myself all my life and we are all reasonable weight...if anyone starts to overeat I tell them they have to earn the calories and send them out for a walk or with a frisbee...know it sounds tame but we play very physical frisbee...lots of short spurt running and jumping...

Diva, another trick to speeding up your metabolism is to get up frequently (every ten minutes) while watching tv or on computor and just do anything...walk around the couch ten times if you have nothing else to do...or do ski squats with your back to the wall..you can keep watching...we used to do this every winter to get fit for skiing..as well as roller-skating if weather was good...after a while you can't sit still like a couch potato...

I could never just run...I always side stepped telegraph poles and high-jumped fences to alleviate the boredom of running...and boxing is also good...just keep moving...and remember it has to be a life-long thing...

cheers Thumbs up

Thx guys/gals. I have changed my diet massively as well i should add. Like you said Juju, 5 small meals a day helps big time. I couldnt remeber the last time something shit went into my body. Even if was never to lose another kg i feel so much better in myself.

Coaching the kids at soccer is alot of fun and running around. I also limit myself to the computer and set time aside then im off again. I even opted for a run last sunday instead of watching the football, put the i pod on listen to the game while running
