Hammer wtf!? If I were your bookie, I'd be slipping some anthrax into your next envelope of cash!

I once picked 8 straight U/Os in a row, that was my biggest heater. I was betting $1k a pop back then, those were the days. I think I was 23 or something, thought I was invincible, destined to be the next Donald Trump. That never eventuated but I did manage to get good seats to GSP Koscheck 2, which was some consolation. Very Happy

Hey, remember that time you and I went in halves on MLB picks? rolling I think I went 6-0 or 7-0 or something and you finally decided to cash out before my luck ran out. LOL I am an OK capper, definitely not as good as my current season shows to be honest. I think I'm more lucky than anything, but better to be lucky right?

No problem, I'm just glad both bets hit easily as the Kings won the half and game outright!

Okay picks for Friday, January 7th:

NO Hornets +7.5
Phoenix Suns -2.5
Orlando Magic 1st Half -5.5

POSSIBLE LEANS:
Miami Heat -7
Phoenix Suns -1.5 1st Half
EDIT!!! Also looking at Minnesota +1 1st Half

Good value here with WBX IMO getting +8.5 at close to 1.8.

New Orleans @ LA Lakers - New Orleans +8.5

Better hop on the Suns before the spread goes up any more. I am leaning towards taking the 1st half Suns too, but haven't made up my mind yet.

New York @ Phoenix - New York +2.5

WBX has the spread at -7.5 at 2 which is good value. I really think that they can come out strong as they have been lately and cover this by double digits but I'm still working on it.

Miami @ Milwaukee - Miami -7.5

Good luck and don't go crazy. I have to cool off sometime and it could happen today. Money management folks, don't bet big and tail blindly because I'm on a streak. Cap the games yourself and bet accordingly.
cheers

Sorry, I was away on Maui for the weekend and was unable to post any bets. It wasn't a great weekend anyway, Saturday went 2-3 and Sunday 3-2 so I basically lost the vig. Wasn't terrible, but didn't win anything. Yesterday I cashed on Auburn -1 fairly big. For some reason I could not post anything through my phone on here. It was one of THE best NCAA title games I've ever witnessed.

Will be back with a play... or plays soon. I'll try to keep my posted plays down to 3 or less, only putting up my strongest plays. I usually end up making 5-6 plays, but some are marginal.

Good luck today folks!

January 11th

Ok I have one pick put in already, Portland -3.5 vs the Knicks. Not likely a popular pick with the way the Knicks have been playing. They beat up the Spurs and the Suns before getting the shit smacked out of them by the Champs. I really think that Portland can slow this Knicks team down with their D and Portland is just so damn tough at home. The interior defense of the Blazers will create fits for the Knicks, just like the Lakers did. I've seen some books getting up to -4.5 on Portland, so lock this in for as low as you can get it! Be back with more...

New York @ Portland - New York +3.5

Ok locked in two more bets! My final card for January 11th NBA is:

Portland -4
Lakers -15
Lakers 1st Half -8.5

The line is high on this one, but I think Cleveland will get bashed badly from the tip to the end game buzzer. I don't like laying this much chalk, frankly don't like laying chalk in general, but I have to go with my instincts on this one. Lakers have been playing well as of late and are finally finding their rhythm with Bynum. Good luck to all today! I also have NCAA picks in the NCAA forum, check 'em out!

Cleveland @ LA Lakers - Cleveland +15.5

So, 2-1 yesterday with the Blazers putting up a huge stinker, but the Lakeshow putting on a clinic against the Cavs where I won the 1st half and the game by the most comfortable of margins. Still looking at today's card and I will be back soon with a few picks.

Alright here we go, picks for January 12th!!!

First one is my favorite play today. I'm taking the Dallas Mavericks MONEYLINE vs. the Indiana Pacers. I think most punters will be all over the Pacers today and with a juicy -1.5 line at HOME after beating up on a fairly hot Philly team last night they look real enticing. So why is Dallas only +1.5... on the road... with Diggler's status up in the air? Frankly the Dallas D is where it's at. I think this will be a slow paced game where the Under looks nice too, but I won't play it. Dallas' bench which was considered the best in the league is a bit depleted, mainly because the punch on their second unit Terry and Stevenson are now playing heavier minutes with the injuries to Dirk and Butler. That being said, I think the Mavs still take it. Something fishy here and I am taking the plunge here. I may even make a play at the Mavs 1st half too!

Dallas @ Indiana - Money Line

Another game I really like is the Celtics vs. the Kings. Kings fucked me on the Wizards 1st half spread yesterday (Thumbboy witnessed my unposted loss rolling) but they won't screw me again! Tyreke or no Tyreke, I think this game will end up just like yesterday's Lakers game. I am going with the 1st half Celtics line and the Celtics for the game. One thing is for sure, and those who follow know this, I hate laying such large numbers, and -13.5 in the NBA is large, but I am going with it and going with the -7 1st half as well.

Sacramento @ Boston - Sacramento +13.5

So in summary:
Dallas ML
Boston -13.5
Boston 1st Half -7

LEANING:
Dallas 1st Half (pk)

Looks good mate!
I like the Dallas play but I'm always hesitant to take lines as big as that Boston one.

My plays today

3 Units - Miami -4 First half @ 1.95
2 Units - Dallas +10.5/Utah ML/Miami ML/Lakers ML @ 2.94

GL Mate!

I like the 2 unit multi, but not so sure on the Miami 1st half just yet. Not sold on them for that play, but the full game spread at -7.5 is enticing, but a no play for me. Clips have played REAL strong 1st halves and I'm scared to play against that, even with the Heat playing as well as they have been playing. I'll be rooting for you on it!

MAN what a tough card on deck! We got Orlando on a back to back road game against the Thunder, a LeBron-less Heat team against the "How the fuck will they play tonight?" Nuggets and the "Let's fuck Hammer's first half spread while up 19 after the first quarter only to be down 2 at the half" Wizards against the Timberwolves. I have to really take a good look at today's line-up, I will at least have one play.

I've seen quite a few "guests" pop into this thread. You all should sign up and give me some insight as to what you think of my picks! I get help from Chaseit, Jales, ColdDog, Thumbboy, Hazzah and sometimes jvalles, but always good to get a fresh view of things.

Ok, I have two official plays and one lean. The lean I will post much like the one in the NCAA basketball thread, but I may not play it.

January 13th plays:
Orlando -1.5
Minnesota 1st half -2

LEAN:
Miami -1

The one thing that scares me is that D12 had a great game, and the Magic had a pretty good game from the perimeter last night, but still lost. Playing back to back road games is not easy either, but OKC's defense is nowhere near what the Hornets brought last night. I have a feeling we'll see D12 abuse Krstic, Ibaka and Collison down low all night opening things up on the perimeter. Sefalosha is a scary defender though for sure and no one on Orlando can really guard Durant (really who can?) but my gut is telling me Orlando will pull this one off.

Orlando @ Oklahoma City - Orlando -1.5

WBX doesn't have a first half line on this game, but I can't see how going with Minny first half can go wrong. They are the hotter team at the moment and Blatche is NOT 100% for the Wiz. I have a feeling Minny will run away with the first half and let the Wiz come back into the game, but not let them win. I think it'll end up as a Minny win by 2, but first half will likely be comfortably over the line.

The Miami Heat game is a headscratcher to say the least. Who the hell knows which Nuggets team shows up. The one who put the beatdown on the Suns? Or the one who got smashed by both the Clips and the Kings on consecutive nights? One thing is for sure, the Nuggets could be on a roll and with the Heat playing a back to back road game in the high altitude, it could be scary. I currently have the line at -1 at my book, however WBX being a betting exchange has it at -2.5. LeBron isn't going to play and that's a huge blow to the team, however I suspect DWade turns it up a notch and owns the Nuggets tonight. Don't know if I will play it just yet, may way to see how the two other games play out.

Miami @ Denver - Miami -2.5

Thoughts? Opinions? Anything? Even a "Hammer you fucking idiot, the Thunder will roll because..." would be great Very Happy Give me some feedback guys!
