Pies and Cats should win this one, but wouldn't be surprised to see Hawks and Eags get up. Either way the grandy should be a cracker!

West Coast 4 W- 0 L against the Cats in finals. Games were in the early 90s but Chuckle gives an eagles fan like me false hope for an upset. Should be an interesting game. I dont think it will be a thrashing but hard for West Coast to win

Hopefully we learn from the loss to the Pies at the G. If we continually bomb it inside 50 there offensive backs will have a field day. Will need to shut the game down and control it as much as possible especially when going inside 50. Than work the press hard so they cant get it out easily

Kerr will need to play the game of his life in a prelim again and lead the way out of the middle. Priddis is a hard worker but his clearance efficiency isnt as good as Kerr's. Naitanui and Cox will have an edge on the Cats ruckman

Backline's been sensational in 2011. They held Collingwood well 2 weeks ago. Carlton's small forwards got on top of them last week but. Glass leads the back 6 tremendously well and Mackenzie's improving. Butler, Waters, A. Selwood look after the Cats small and mid sized forwards. Need plenty of drive from Hurn like the Cats get out of Enright and Mackie

Think the Cats will win but a lot closer than people suspect. No pressure on West Coast. The pressure's on Geelong. A win for west Coast is just a bonus and a GF appearance that looked completely unrealistic only 12 months ago

TEAM CHANGES:
Collingwood:
In: Thomas & Reid
Out: Fasolo & Goldsack

Hawthorn: NO CHANGE

Geelong
In: Corey
Out: Menzel

West Coast: NO CHANGE

Experience wins out. Fasolo is unlucky to miss, but who else are they gonna drop? Dunno

3/4 time...

except for the first ten minutes we have been outplayed by a Hawks team playing Pie-style bustling, short-passing football...

will take a miracle to get out of this...Beams, Daisy and Sidebottom virtually absent...Leigh Brown has retired already...

Tarrant and Blair holding what's left of the Maggies together....

hard to watch when you know they are capable of better....

I am so sorry anyone had to lose that game...

the miracle came in the names of Chris Tarrant and Travis Cloke, and another great captain's game from Maxwell...

I know Ball kicked the winner but Tarrant's tagging, defensive clearing and ground awareness was the deciding factor all night...

I have nothing but admiration for every Hawks player...they outplayed the Pies for two thirds of the game and by rights should have won...I still don't know how they didn't...I nearly closed my eyes the last two minutes because I couldn't bear to watch...

and one tackle by Daisy was the single most vital play in the game....

no wonder Mick cried and Alastair punched the awning...

9-11 could of been 12-8 so easily

so many chances gone begging so many easy shots and you throw away your season

we have no hope of beating Geelong on that performance...

I don't think the week off did us any favours with players coming back from suspension/injury...Daisy three weeks, Reid five weeks....and Dids, Jolly and Maxi carrying long-term problems...

as Mick said, Hawthorn were better but we pinched it somehow...

Pies haven't won a finals game yet this year, Eagles and Hawks kicked themselves out of the game. Great game though. Pies players looked real sore during that last quarter, I think there luck may stop here whit whoever wins tomorrow taking the flag, most likely
Geelong. Jolly, Wellingham, Thomas, Maxwell & Reid all looked well under 100%, they were playing off straight adrenaline and will feel it for the rest of the week.

yep, quite right...

Fasolo and Goldsack might be making the team...

Beams was abysmal, can't remember seeing him after the first fifteen minutes till he was replaced...

Jolly will play on one leg but Reid must be very doubtful and risky to keep in...Dids has to be in early and not sub...

If the Weagles pull off a miracle I can see us having nearly as much trouble with them...

If the cats win we're gone...

jolly cant play on one leg ruckman need to be fully fit

wood will come in and get pantsed

if jolly plays on cox and naitanui it will be good night nurse

but cats are over the line pies cant beat them if i was a pie supported i would be hoping for a west coast miracle

We've been treated to some ripper finals so far this series. Last weekend Eagles vs. Carlton and last night were the highlights.

Think Smiddy's right. Collingwood dint win that game. Hawthorn lost it for themselves. Roughead would have made a difference for sure as would have someone like Gilham instead of Schoenmakers. Looked very shaky the young fella. Think Bateman should hang up the boots after that effort. Abysmal.

Whoever though of throwing Davis forward needs a medal. That left foot goal roving from outside 50 in the last was Davis class.

Good luck to the Pies next weekend. Some hard choices to make this week. Jolly will be a race against time to be fit, didnt see Reid's injury but apparently he's not certain either. Ottens and West or Cox and Naitanui will be like the cat who got the cream if Jolly doesnt play.

Good luck to War Pants today. Hoping the cinderella story continues for another week but you need to be realistic with these sorts of things. The boys wont die wondering i know that much. Senior players, blokes who played in the grand finals, need to give it there absolute all, set a standard for the inexperienced lads to follow. GO EAGLES Smile

Bit unfair on Bateman, guy took an almighty whack to the back of the head in the 4th, and the guy didn't know where he was, didn't even get the free kick either. Tried his arse off, but could barely kick 15m. Reckon he might have been concussed.

there were a few dodgy ones not go our way in the last

that holding the ball in our forward line was the quickest call all year

gilham is prob the difference in that game shoey is shite cant believe he still gets a gig

i think cats could blow this out but if eagles kick straight they can make a match of it for 3 quarters

Cats look easily home now - 56 points up at 3/4 time ... a few issues ... Stevie J knee injury, Bartel doesnt look 100% and Pods will have a hip and shoulder charge looked at by MRP (probly be ok as no injury to Sellwood). They have Milburn, Byrnes and Mooney waiting anyway.

Pies stole that game ... Hawks played so well - shame a loss for them.

There was definately some dodgy umpiring happening. Not using it as an excuse but. Pods was all over Glass in the square in the last quarter, no free to glass, GOAL Christensen instead Banghead

Certainly not why we lost however. Just werent up to the standard of a a prelim final yet. Need a few more years before becoming a force. Premiership window not shut yet. Some definate positives to take out of it but. Gaff in his first year was generally good. Did some bad things late but he ttried hard. Naitanui was a freak. Cox wasnt up to standard today

After qtr time we only lost by an average of a goal a qtr to. Not the blowout that was expected during the first quarter
