What a cracker this one is going to be! Two title fights and some awesome match-ups. Aldo vs. Florian - Match OddsAldo is hands-down my favourite fighter. The guy is an absolute beast. He literally kicks the crap out of people. I don't think he deserves to be a $1.33 unbackable favourite in this one though. Florian is a crafty old grinder. He is not completely without a shot here. He has a world of experience and looked very impressive in his last fight. Aldo cuts a lot of weight and seems to be struggling with it more lately. I'm going to stay away from the betting in this one and just cheer for a beat-down. Maynard vs. Edgar - Match OddsI know a lot of people are negative about this trilogy, the fights are "boring" blah blah, but I think these are people who know jack shit about MMA. Their last fight especially was an epic battle, the little bastard was on crazy legs but somehow managed to stage a come-back for the ages. I have no good rationale for predicting this fight, I just have a gut feeling that "Bully" will figure out the riddle, close the distance, and finish the champion. Sonnen vs. Stann - Match OddsSonnen is a deserved heavy favourite in this one, he is about as close as you can get to a "sure thing". Stann is a gamer and a likable guy but he's just not in the same league as Sonnen. He got decisioned by Phil Davis not that long ago, you can be damned sure Sonnen will do much the same. I can't wait for the Sonnen v Silva rematch! Lauzon vs. Guillard - Match OddsI reckon Lauzon is the best underdog bet on the card. There has been so much hype around Guillard lately because of a few highlight reel wins. But shit, this guy is still 29-8, this is the same guy who got submitted by Joe "Daddy" Stevenson (shame shame) and RNC'd by Rich Clementi (lol) not all that long ago. There's no denying his talent but a shitty performance is always just around the corner for him. You know that Lauzon is gonna bring it. I think the odds should be closer to $1.60 v $2.50, so I'm happy to take Lauzon at close to $4.00 Good luck those who are playing, post up your tips if you have any!

I agree with all the picks CD. Spot on here for sure. Aldo is one of my favorite fighters... outside of Jon Jones that is, and hopefully he comes into this fight in great shape, unlike against Hominick as we talked about earlier today. If Aldo comes in top shape, he will beat the crap out of Florian. If Aldo comes in less than 100%, it will be a battle, Florian is no joke! But I say Aldo comes in and bashes big time.
The Maynard v Edgar fight is the only summary I disagree with. I agree with the pick, but not the summary. Really, the fights between these two have been extremely boring outside of the first round of their last fight. Neither of them are finishers really, they're grinders. I could see your point of view if these two were great grapplers and jiujitsu practitioners, however these are two dry humpers so I have to disagree. I don't mind grappling if there are submission attempts, transitions all over the place. These two like to lie down. Granted, their last fight was mainly standing as Edgar knows he has no shot on the ground so he has to use his mongoose like quickness to stay on his feet. I think Maynard will be able to take him down in this fight and he will find a way to bash him. I think this will be the most exciting of the trilogy by far.
Sonnen is spot on, just a ridiculously talented fighter with his out of the cage problems. In the cage, the dude is a beast. He was literally less than a minute away from being a champ, however no matter what people say about Silva getting lucky, he was trying to get that choke in the entire fight and finally managed to slip it in late. Sonnen fucked up, but in my opinion he was lucky not to get caught in that choke earlier. Sonnen bashes Stann badly in this one. I see takedown after takedown and a massive ground and pound beating. I hope to see Sonnen v Silva 2, but it won't happen very soon I don't think.
Lauzon is definitely the dog with the most value here. Guillard is due for a loss as his record indicates. He can't seem to put it all together for some reason. I think if he pulled back a little instead of going all out all the time, he'd have a better chance at winning. I think Lauzon's jiujitsu will be sneaky, I'd definitely put money on Lauzon winning by submission... it will happen!

I am all over Melvin to win by KO. I think he will keep this fight standing and use his speed and movement to avoid Lauzon's power shots in the first round. He will throw numerous punches body kicks and knees when up close and Joe will gas by round 2 when Melvin will hit him at will and finish with a killer KO blow. Lauzon can potentially sneak a sub if he can tag Melvin and get on top of him but Melvin has top TDD and a decent chin and is the more likely of the two to land a telling blow. This should be a good fight either way. Melvin to win by KO @ 1.91 - 1 unitDon't hate, appreciate...

Nice job by Lauzon, I hope someone got on at just under $4.00! Melvin came out sloppy, running in there with his hands down, acting all crazy, wtf was he thinking!? Aldo did enough to get the win, showed some true heart in that one. Florian really had a brilliant gameplan and extracted every last inch of experience but he just couldn't do enough damage. The main event was awesome; anyone who didn't enjoy that, isn't a fan of MMA. Edgar was on crazy legs again and somehow came back. I have to question Bully's fight IQ, he went super conservative in round 2 and 3 for no apparent reason. What a ridiculous division, I can't wait for the next title bout! How good was Sonnen? That was insane. I knew he would win via wrestlefuck but that was bordering jailrape. And the post fight interview was one for the ages! Sonnen v Silva II - bring it on!

That was an epic card! Loved pretty much every fight on there Sonnen was amazing, loved his Post Fight interview as well! Aldo was tested by Florian, I havent seen much of the guy but got glimpses of how powerful those kicks can be. Florian fought really well to limit those kicks and keep the fight competitive. Edgar.... WTF how did he survive!!! EPIC fight, and I thought it was going to be average Nice sub by Lauzon too

Melvin to win by KO @ 1.91 - 1 unit TBH, this is exactly why I bet on Lauzon. Books were banking on the fact that punters would go after Melvin for his better striking. No offense to your summary, which quite frankly is a valid one. I saw Guillard as someone with a lot better hands, however one who is always too cocky going into fights. If he could take it back a notch when needed, he'd probably have half as many losses as he does now. Talented guy that Guillard, but always making mistakes that the champs don't.

CD, I doubt anyone thought that Maynard v Edgar III was boring at all. First two, boring as fuck, but #3, even if Edgar won, I thought was epic. I don't want to see another fight though, I'm hoping Edgar ended it with that KO.

It's funny, everyone loved that Pham fight. It was one that I actually skipped through! A one-dimensional lightweight versus a sloppy brawler, both guys with a combined 6 wins from their last 17 fights. I have seen better fights on the main strip of Honolulu at 2am.
