At an early glance...

Carlton
Essendon
Freo
West Coast
Collingwood
Adelaide
North
Saints
Hawks - see lists for this one.

The Carlton one seems straight forward at first, but the Lions record against them at the GABBA is actually pretty decent. If they had Brown in the side I would be inclined to tip them (esp with the outs in the backline for the blues). But for now will go safe with Blues tip

Pretty dull round overall to be honest. I can see a number of potential blowouts

after a few upsets last week, this round appear easier - I'd like to go Port - more of a heart than head tip tho? Dunno

Sydney/Freo could go either way and Lions must be some chance at home...I'm not convinced about Carlton.

Niv I think Port are a definite chance the more I think about this game. Their record over the bombers is quite good considering that Port havent been great the past few years, and they play well against them in Melb.
I think Ess have a couple of outs too? Might change my mind on this game once I see the team lists later this afternoon

Reason I'm not going with Port is coz Bombers tend to start the season well and then trail off after the first 5 rounds.

After a competitive first half Carlton ran away after half-time to record an easy win ... maybe this year the Blues are the 'real' deal?

Warnock, Walker, Duigan, Jamieson still to come back into this team!

If anyone thought GWS were better than Suns first year ... think again?

Half Time: North Melbourne 12. 8 (80) leading GWS Giants 0.4 (4). It's been one-way traffic down in Tasmania.

**************

Yesterday Bombers outlasted a competitive Port by 25 points, Richmond disappeared after 1/2 time with Pies winning, Adelaide and Sydney won after tough fights by Bullies and Freo.

oh yeah ... West Coast had the 2nd 'bye' ... 100+ over Dees Can kick

I predicted GWS wouldn't win a game this year and someone disagreed with me....

any takers for a win now?

completely agree - disgraceful performance by the hawks.

plenty of culprits today in addition to schoenmakers

guerra - he's a shocker especially in close, tight games - every time he has the ball he thinks he has 10 seconds to waltz around and ponder what to do next...

osborne - possibly cost the hawks the game with his shocker right in front of the goal in the middle of the 4th and his downfield free kick for a late hit on stokes.

another observation - was quite funny how hawthorn kept leaving their feet throwing themselves at the ball and not getting close to it, where in contrast the cats stayed on their feet and tried to actually get the ball...

Hawks cost me a flawless round for tipping. They had there chances late but. Osborne's fumble in the square. Bruest missed a sitter for him late. The one that really shiited me was Franklin but. WHY OH WHY did he grubber that. The mind baffles. Roughead's return was good enough. Bit worried in the third when he was hobbling away from a contest but he came good.

Hawks needed to use Birchall a lot more in the first half. I know they got Suckling and Guerra in the back half but i think theyd prefer Birchall have it over Guerra anyday.

Credit to the Cats but. Winning against the tide. I thought theyd be shot without Scarlett but they fought hard. Lonergan took honours on Farnklin after quarter time. Hale wasnt influental.

Stephenson being a late out was probably favourable for the Cats in the end with the weather being typical Melbourne like. Brought in the speedster Byrnes

Gilham needs to come in soon. Once they know his fit enough to play he must. Even play Boumann over Schoey. Schoenmakers is laughable at times. Once or twie a game he might do a good thing but more often than not his a spud. Both Hawkins and Podsiadly toweled him up. Its Zac Dawson all over again except Schoey's more physically developed.

Hawthorn will probably be on the hunt for a key defender in the trade period again

freo cost me 9

bloody pretenders

i think they have to decide weather they are just going to continue to have him get carved up every time he plays against someone decent

it is shocking i am giving us 3 losses out of our last 3 down to his errors

i no its a team game and everyone makes mistakes but his are basic and unforgivable
