the big 3 from Heat have been missing some games for the Heat lately
Derrick Rose has been in and out all season, though the Bulls have played well without him
Pacers are the surprise team for me this season, 3rd overall in the East, but can't see them getting past the 2nd round..
Anything can happen in the West, Thunder are the fav's but Mavs could knock them out in the 1st round if the matchups stay the same
Also, looking at the standings, it's pretty funny to see the Bobcats tanking their way to a 19 game losing streak Mr. Green
7-55... wow Very Happy

It seems wide open at this stage, but I have a feeling Miami are going to come along and trounce everyone in unbelievable fashion.

It's a weird season on basketball, a lot of teams have lost form of late, trying to perfect there playoff teams. I think Celtics are the darkhorse, and will go all the way. It's there last shot, they've been playing unbelievable and have done so with resting the big three and Rondo of late. KG is playing his best ball for the season, and jump shots aren't missing. They're tough to hold out IMO.

Think the Thunder have a real shot at it this year. They've beaten most of the top teams in the regular season, sometimes rather convincingly too.

Their interior defense (Perk & Ibaka) will be huge in playoff games. And we've just seen Durant / Westbrook tear defences apart since after the All Star break. Throw in Harden leading the bench unit and it seems like they have the elements of a championship team.

X-factor is Westbrook possibly imploding during the playoffs.

yeah just about anyone in the West could go deep into the playoffs
East seems like it's a 3 team race between Heat, Bulls, Celts
Thunder have a very nice balance, but could they end up facing Mavs 1st round and Lakers 2nd round?
They're a hot team right now but that's a lot of playoff experience they could be going up against

I know they beat the odds last year, but there's no way the Mavs win it this year. It's obvious that losing Tyson destroyed their title hopes, plus Jason Kidd is even older, with Roddy Beaubois no where close an impact player as JJ Barea was. Dirk is still good but has close to zero support this year.

IMO the real threats to the Thunder are Lakers (Kobe will fight to the death before he'll let Durant beat him), and the ever-savvy Spurs.

In the East, the Bulls have looked good in the regular season again, same like last year, but come the playoffs, somehow I just don't see how they beat the Heat or Celtics. It's between Miami & Boston for me...depending on how healthy and how long the ancient Celtics can carry on their current good form.

The only real threat to the Bulls is the Heat. They need a healthy Rose/Rip to get by them.

The geriatric Celtics are a threat to no one.

The joke of the playoffs will be the Magic.

Basically a first round bye to whoever gets them, which looks like the Pacers

Well that was a short playoff run Rejected

Just wasn't D-Rose's year. Fitting he'd get hurt on his own in the final minutes of a game they had basically in hand.

I still think the Bulls can beat Philly and then the winner of the Boston/Atlanta series. The only way they can get to the Finals is if NY/Indy/Orlando take out the heat, and that's very unlikely.

A 50-16 season down the shitter at the worst time.

I'll take the Thunder over the Heat in the Finals now.

I quite enjoyed seeing Tyson Chandler but LeBron on his ass yesterday Nod

Holy crap, ACL? That's horrible news. Sad Did you see the play, how did it happen? Sadly, and I hate to say it, but this is going to be the end of Rose as you know him. He's going to have to be more of a Joey Johnson mid-range guy who uses craft and guile to get his shot. The explosive first step won't be there.

http://sports.yahoo.com/...acl-tear-014154715.html I just saw the clip. That is *** up. How on earth did he bust his knee from a simple two foot land and jump. I have never seen such an innocuous ACL tear mechanism. No rotation, nothing. Shocking.

what a crappy way to end his season
Bulls were playing great without him this year though so at least they are prepared for playing without their star
Chicago's odds went from 6.00 out to 15.00 with this news though
meanwhile Heat are now down to 2.52 odds for the title, so it's had a very clear impact in the betting odds

The injury was a freak one. No one touched him. He just simply planted wrong and that was that. I think it basically was a culmination of all the other injuries and just not having enough time to let them heal properly. One lead to the other and then this final one. Even if it didn't happen this last game it just seemed like it was a matter of time.

You're right though, that explosiveness is going to take a hit. He's young and good enough though to adapt and play within his limitations to where I think he'll be just as good when he eventually does come back, just not in the same type of way.

I just haven't been able to care much about these playoffs. The last lockout-shortened season, I at least cared about Sean Elliott getting a ring with the Spurs. There's not really anything that interests me about this one.

Surprised to see the Heat down 2-1 to the Pacers!
Are they a chance to implode now that the pressure is on Dunno
I think if Miami loses the East is wide open and the winner will probably come from the Spurs/Thunder.
Here's the latest odds:

Now that the Bulls are out, I'm rooting for every team that plays the Heat.

Let's go Pacers!

I'll root for my hometown guys just this once Mr. Green
