the last two matches are the hardest to assess...will the Blues and Weagles bounce back ?

two bad performances from premiership contenders...or are they?

Early days but here goes

On last week i'd go with the Pies. Outcome will depend a lot on the ins and outs for both. Bartel and Scarlett for Cats, Thomas and Jolly for Pies.

North in the most uninteresting game of the round probably

Hawthorn and Fremantle should be a good game of footy. Hawks just

Could Melbourne get there first win against an out of form Sydney? Swans at home

Essendon vs. Richmond - Arguably game of the round. Toss of the coin job. Essendon just

Bulldogs to beat the Suns

Brisbane at the GABBA. Giants would've been a chance at home

Carlton vs. Adelaide should be another good game. Carlton need to win this

West Coast over the Saints. No bias Chuckle

despite the fact I picked the Saints to beat Carlton I think it was a hard game and they might not bounce back against the Weagles...but injuries are taking their toll on WC and they're not so dominating now...Nic Nat out cost them a fair bit on top of a depleted forward line...waiting to see the make-up of teams before I decide...

I think the Pies are starting to hit their straps....and a few Geelong players are not performing up to scratch...their motivation will be to re-produce last year's GF win...and Pies will want revenge...I think revenge might win the day...

West Coast should have a few ins this week, Kerr, Natanui, Schofield, Smith sure theres a few more, but still a danger game.

My tip for the week is Tigers over Dons, still think Bombers are overrated.

you need to do your research at least 4 ins for west coast prob 5 saints on a short break and travelling to perth not a good mix

some interesting games and 50/50s ...

Pies v Cats ... so much has happened since the GF last year. Cats have lost much experience and had a huge loss to Crows last week. Expect them to bounce back and not play as bad. Pies are learning a new playbook with Buckley and have started to find some form after a hgesitatant first month. I'll go Cats with no certainty.

Port v North ... North should win but there downside last week gives Port some hope. Schulz back for Port is a good in. I'm torn heart to head ... Harvey must be stopped as he always towels up Port. North in a close one.

Hawthorn vs. Fremantle. another either way, Hawks have more firepower for me.

Sydney Swans vs. Melbourne ... Swans easy.

ESsendon vs. RichmonD ... big build up-'Dreamtime at the G' game ... both teams in top form-the midfield hold the key and I think Bombers have more grunt there.

Western Bulldogs vs. Gold Coast Suns, Bulldogs should back up but Suns will be hurting after losing to GWS last week.

Brisbane vs. GWS Giants, another 50/50 ... I'm going Lions with no confidence. May change to Giants before the game, tho.

Carlton vs. Adelaide, Carlton need to make a statement after being beaten up last week but come in after 6-day break. Adelaide are playing great team footy - should win.

West Coast Eagles vs. St Kilda ... still unsure on Saints but they were super impressive last week v Blues. Weagles have missed some forwards and ge a few back this week. A short break plus the trip to Perth may take enuf out of Saints for an Eagles win at home.

After 4/9 last week I have no expectations on my tippinng this week ...

Still on the Pies tonight. Stephenson in after i dropped him in fantasy teams Banghead

North should get the 4 points. Love to be a fly on the wall if they lost. Scott would be furious

Hawthorn i think. Not convinced either way yet. Freo could cause an upset if Hodge is ruled out

Sydney. Good to see Tommy Walsh gets his chance to play AFL

Essendon just. Hurley IN is a huge bonus for the Bombers. With Crameri and Ryder as the talls inside 50 could be potent and causing headaches for the Richmond defence. Rance vs. Hurley would be a good match up. Two up and coming KPP's of the comp

Bulldogs easy

Carlton in a close one. No Walker to kick goals for the Crows

West Coast. 6 day break for the Saints, plus take time out of that for travelling to WA. Naitanui, Schofield and Smith will all play i think. Selwood and Priddis i'm not sure about. Stevens will replace Priddis is his ruled out

No Hodge it seems than. Freo will be harder to beat than a hopeless Melbourne outfit. If Clark can kick 3 goals in a qtr on Schoenmakers than Pavlich / other tall forwards could have a day out

Glad to get away with the valuable 4 points...unbelievable amount of hand0ball turnovers from the Pies...some scrambling defence from Reid, Maxwell and Harry O being the vital component in a fascinating and hard game...

Swan off in the final quarter was costly...hope that hamstring or cork is not too severe...

I have a captain mock in my DT...started the first three games with Pendkes...he was heavily tagged and scored lower than normal...switched to Ablett and he gets injured...switch back to Pendles, only to have Swan go beserk and score high...so I switch this week to Swanny and guess what?...he gets injured and Pendles scores high...

should have just made Sidebottom captain and stuck with him...

... good call Chuckle Banghead

Schulz 7 goals ... Kornes stops Harvey (only 6k 6h, 1 goal)... Port in a close one ... happy to get this tip wrong! Great fightback to win when 5 goals down with 11 mins to go!

Crows on top at 1/2 time ... not a physical rough-up like Saints just run and carry, win clearances and efficient ball use.

Tex Walker being out was a concern but Vince and McKay have 2 goals each plus Tippet giving them a focal point up forward. Dangerfield going from strength to strength is clear BOG. He crashed into Murphy just before the half and the latter may have a damaged shoulder.

Carlton will need to dig deep and find some one to impose themselves up forward. Betts and Garlett quiet again. Robinson unsighted. Walker trying hard. Kruezer and Hampson not doing much either. Jacobs (who was 4th ruck at Blues 2 years ago) dominating and given his midfiled first use.

Blues were just smacked ... 124 to 55.

Where are they? Judd was quiet. Carrazzo is out, Murphy will miss a few. Brittle up forward and backline with no fear for opponents?

Crows now face Collingwood, Freo and Saints - they could be prem faves in the next month.

7 out of 9 for me in R8. Missed out on the Kangaroos tip and Carlton tip

West Coast won which is always good. 3rd quarter fade outs are a bit of a worry but. The same happened against Essendon last weekend. Freo wont let us win if we are off our game like that for a quarter. Cox was sensational. Opposition midfield are still beating us in clearances but. Shows how important Priddis is to the team.

Bring on the Derby Boxing

Eagles have got Carlton @ Subi a week later I think, then the bye, another team that continues to underachieve.

i disagree

they finish where they should do every year

they arent as good as they are porrayed to be they have no key forward anda backline that is make shift

that wont get you top 4

For a team that has 3 #1 draft picks and Judd, they underachieve.
