Being Played in Wellington, New Zealand. KO Fri 7:35 pm local time (Sat 8:35 am UK)
Can the Mighty Boks come back after a wipping by the Wallabies.

The Wallabies were the wipping boys of the 2005 Tri-Nations competition but this time it
looks like the S.Africans might just want the wooden spoon for themselves.

Kiwi coach (Graham Henry) is taking nothing for granted as he prepares his team to
face the Springboks this Saturday. Henry said 'I'd imaging they'll play a lot better'

Current scoreboard:

Australia is temporarily in the lead due to the fact that they have played more games
than the All Blacks and the Springboks

I agree Zayd, and the media is probally trying to stir up the Boks with stories like
what Blue Jay is saying about a 'reserve team'.

"Blue Jay"
I think SA will spring a major supprise and upset the AB's!

The AB's will get cocky and think they have already won before they have even entered the stadium. That will be there downfall. New Zealand are apparently making loads of changes and putting out a reserve team as they think it will be that easy. WRONG! SA are no mugs and will be going all out. Pride is a big motivator, and I expect a close match with SA coming through

It is just the rotation system that the coach is using to keep he's players fresh.

How the Boks 'tackled' the Kiwis

Statistical look at New Zealand's win

The final scoreline read: New Zealand 35 South Africa 17. The try-count was two each. But the All Blacks' superiority over the Springboks in their Tri-Nations showdown in Wellington on Saturday was far greater than that.

The statistics tells a story all of its own. It tells of how New Zealand controlled possession and South Africa was forced to defend all day.

In fact the Boks made twice as many tackles as the Kiwis, with midfielder Wynand Olivier tops with 17 tackles.

And the All Blacks also had almost twice as many rucks as the Boks, meaning they simply controlled possession better.

Here are the statistics!

New Zealand:
Possession: 56 percent
Territory: 47 percent
Restarts: From halfway - turnover 3, regained 1; From 22 - turnover 2, regained 0
Line-outs: Won - 15, lost - 3. Leading ball winners: Thorne 3, Williams 3
Scrums: Won - 6, lost - 1, reset - 4
Rucks: 76
Mauls: 6
Hit-ups: 67
Linebreaks: 4
Tackles: Made - 71, missed - 9. Top tacklers - McCaw 10, Thorne 9
Turnovers: 17 - tackle 1, ruck/maul 5, line-out/scrum 3, other 8
Errors: 7 - handling 3, kicking 4
Infringements: Penalties 11, free-kicks 0

South Africa:
Possession: 44 percent
Territory: 53 percent
Restarts: From halfway - turnover 9, regained 0; From 22 - turnover 2, regained 0
Line-outs: Won - 15, lost - 0. Leading ball winners: Matfield 5, Smith 5
Scrums: Won - 9, lost - 2, reset - 6
Rucks: 43
Mauls: 6
Hit-ups: 36
Linebreaks: 3
Tackles: Made - 145, missed - 19. Top tacklers - Olivier 17, Smith 15
Turnovers: 22 - tackle 5, ruck/maul 5, line-out/scrum 2, other 10
Errors: 7 - handling 6, kicking 1
Infringements: Penalties 15, free-kicks 0
