wow, even if they don't land D12 this Laker team is looking pretty nuts!
Think about it how amazing this team could be.

Now that they've added Jamison who is a legit 18-20ppg player on most NBA teams, they can still put up a ton of pts even if Kobe sits some games out.
Kobe is still one of the top 3-5 players in the game today behind Lebron and maybe Durant, and even without him this team would be impressive.

Nash, Jamison, Gasol, Bynum << A team built around those 4 would still be a possible title contender, but with Kobe on top, you'd have to think the Lakers are now pushing the Heat for title favourites surely Dunno

With Howard they are better than Miami for a year or two, without they are a bunch of old guys like the Celtics were, who have a "shot"

All bets are one unit ($50) unless otherwise noted.

Jamison is a perfect fit for this team, he can hit the three and score inside - will be a great target for Nash.
the Lakers arguably have one of the top PG's, SG's and 2nd best C in the league as it stands right now
Gasol is a 7 footer that can play the 4, and a good passer as well.
Even without D12 this teams has to be a contender. Nash is getting older but he still had nearly 11apg last season throwing the ball to Channing Frye and Marcin Gortat
Imagine how much damage he can do with Bynum and Gasol in tandem Smile

Yeah I dunno about this one. Jamison is 100 years old now. He was Mr Reliable for the longest time but finally the cracks started appearing in 10-11 and 11-12 where he played 50-60 games a season. He's not a great outside shooter, he averages 1 3PM per game across his career and this on bad teams. I think he's a solid pick-up but I don't think he'll make or break anything.

The big question is, how much gas does old Nashy have left in the tank? If he can put in one last big effort, they might just fall over the line for a Championship one last time. This is surely Kobe's last or second to last year.

This is kinda like when they signed Karl Malone and Gary Payton who were also about 40 years old at the time...and both ended up not being very effective.

in 11/12 he played 65 games, but it was a shortened 66 game season so he only really missed 1 game.
I think if you look at his per minute output throughout his entire career, Jamo has been extremely consistent, and last season was no real drop off the only difference has been that the Cavs limited his minutes in a similar way to how they did with Kyrie Irving.

If he regresses slightly and gives the Lakers 14-15ppg, 5-6rpg, and helps stretch the defense a bit with the occasional three, that's a perfect role player for what the Lakers need in a title run.

Likewise with Nash, I think his scoring dipped last season, but his playmaking is still second only to maybe Rondo.
the guy has averaged over 12apg per 36 min for the last 3 seasons, so when he is on court he's even more active than in the past:

I'm not expecting a major drop off from either of these guys next season. I watched a lot of Cavs games and Jamison still has a lot left in the tank, he may be 36 but he's still an effective player. Nash, they may have to limit his mins sometimes during the regular season and give him the odd game off for his back probs, but I think they will be very hard for just about any team to match up with from the 1-5.
