High draw seemed to be favoured in this mornings live draw broadcast and I like the look of Tariq Too. He loves soft ground and is unexposed at sprint trips but this strong traveller gives the impression he can improve for it. I'll throw in The Cheka as a saver, he's classy on soft and is in good heart at present - what price Moonlight cloud off top weight in this?!!

Thorburn me old china - what's up? I was only talking to Poindexter last week about you. You've been sorely missed.

Looking forward to the action from the Scottish track this weekend, providing the heavens don’t open again.

Did Moonlight Cloud have an entry? I don’t think she would have much chance off top weight, classy animal though she is.

Moonlight Cloud would be a 3/1 shot off 10st with only about 8 runners in the hcp proper. Strangely connections seem to have other plans for the beast.

It's good to be back. Is Cold dog still hanging around gents toilets?

colddog is in cold storage for the next 16 years, on account of being a new daddy.

good race this.

4 and 5 years olds who have raced in the last 60 days have won 11 of the last 14 gold cups.

that leaves these today.

Alben Star (IRE) 4 35
Our Jonathan 5 35
Maarek 5 7
Colonel Mak 5 35
Boastful (IRE) 4 27
Doc Hay (USA) 5 7
Pintura 5 49
Louis The Pious 4 35
Shropshire (IRE) 4 8

11 winners from the last 14 have had a rating between 92 and 100.

which leaves these.

Alben Star (IRE)
Colonel Mak
Louis The Pious
Shropshire (IRE)

alben star has put some good runs in, on straight 6fs, in c2s and on the going this year.
colonel mak cant have this one.
Louis The Pious all its best work is on good going
Shropshire this one beat the other 3 on the rowley back in may, also has only run twice on a flat 6f, and likes it 1st and a neck 2nd.
its last 3 6f runs have all been c2s consisting of 52 runners and has been beaten a total of 4 lenghts, high draw looks advantagous on this going, not happy about the claimer riding in a heritage handicap mind.

at around 45/1 the exchanges, this one will do for me.

i will take johannes for a place, i will be happy with 12s.
