Footballer 'cheated with teammate's partner'10:00 AEST Sat Jan 30 2010 5 hours 27 minutes ago The captain of England's national football team has been exposed as having an affair with a teammate's lingerie model girlfriend who is also his wife's best friend. A gag order preventing the press from revealing Chelsea footballer John Terry's relationship with French model Vanessa Perroncel was lifted by Britain's High Court yesterday, UK newspaper The Sun reported. At the time of the affair, Perroncel was the partner of fellow England defender Wayne Bridge and the best friend of Terry's childhood sweetheart wife Toni. It is believed the revelations could cost Terry, 29, millions in commercial sponsorship deals and poses a serious threat to the fortunes of the English team at this year’s World Cup in South Africa. He was recently crowned Britain's celebrity father of the year and was seen widely in Britain as a family man with his wife and three-year-old twins. Both men are expected to be named in England's World Cup team but within minutes of the story breaking, football fans called for Terry to be stripped of his captaincy. Bridge and Perroncel are reported to have split up last month.

He must lose the England captaincy for that. The players will not have any respect for him now. He is a serial offender. I would have poked her too though. Banner by Pooc!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fuk6e5hEeYI

Terry been doing this for ages nothing new and my take is he doesn't seem to the smartest bloke around. I think he was an easy target for the young Vanessa, especially given his wife not turning too many heads. The media is painting this as something he was gunning for, I would be saying this is perfect media for a struggling model. I would be very suprised if she didn't mastermind the whole thing. JT has "previous" so this isn't such a big surprise. He didn't start the affair until after Bridge and Perroncel had split up, so not quite the story that the headline writers make it out to be. But then again "Dagenham Lad Likes Birds and Booze" wouldn't sell as many newspapers. Cheating on your wife is probably not the ideal thing for an England captain to be doing just before a major tournament, but to be fair David Beckham did it before Euro 2004 and it didn't exactly harm his career. Apparently Beckham's indiscretions were not limited to Rebecca Loos, but included a number of young ladies simultaneously such as Esther Canadas and Sarah Marbeck. Beckham's playing career did have a 'blip' after his affairs were made public - he had a disastrous tournament at Euro 2004 missing two penalties and the lack of concentration was blamed on problems in his private life. Frankly I cannot see JT's playing career suffering in quite the same way as he demonstrated with his goal against Burnley on Saturday. I don't think the FA will be having much to say about the whole thing with memories of Faria Alam, Sven Goran-Eriksson and Mark Palios all too fresh. Quite what Capello will make of it all is another matter. Well known as a devout Catholic and anti-abortionist the news that JT apparently paid his lover for a termination may be beyond what Capello will tolerate. If this is the case then expect Wayne Rooney to be made England Captain before the friendly against African Cup winners Egypt on March 3rd. KTBFFH!

Bridge's missus is now being offered upwards of 250k in a bidding war between media firms for her story. Aparrently Terry is worth around £20 million, if i were him id give her a million to keep her mouth shut and give his missus 9 million in divorce settlement. Surely all this negative press will continue to dig at Capello's fortress of confidence until it start to affect the England team itself. Along with the usual hype, build up and "WE CAN DO IT" and "WE CAN LIFT THE WORLD CUP" headlines leading up to the competition, I think its fair to say England's chances in South Africa are pretty bleak indeed. On gambling note, I think Brazil look the complete package and are well over priced for their chances.

Report: John Terry Refuses To Resign As England CaptainJT not giving up the armband. Feb 1, 2010 8:44:00 PM The Mirror reports that under-fire England captain John Terry will not hand in the armband. The skipper's position has come under fierce scrutiny amid the media storm surrounding his alleged affair with Vanessa Perroncel, the ex-girlfriend of Wayne Bridge. Terry's image has taken a battering now that the scandal has gone public, while there are fears that he may have lost the respect of his Three Lions colleagues. However, it is believed that the Chelsea star has no intention of tendering his resignation, meaning England manager Fabio Capello will have to make the final call. A 'close friend' of Terry is quoted as saying: “JT has wanted to be England captain since he was a kid, so if people think he’s going to give that up they’ve got another thing coming. “His life off the pitch has got nothing to do with his abilities as a player or as a captain. He believes he can still do the job on the pitch - and that’s all that matters in his eyes. You tell me a better man to lead England? There isn’t one.”

Ashley Cole has been caught speeding again. Apparently he was doing 130mph up the A3. When the starstruck officer asked him why he was going so fast, he replied " im very sorry officer, ive just heard John Terry's car is parked outside my house!" Stuart Pearce today set his thoughts as "anti head hunter" over personal issues within football, stressing that Terry is the perfect professional etc etc. I doubt very much he'll lose his captaincy. Beckham did bang the hot nanny but none of his team mates were intimately affiliated with her!! Theres the difference!!

This is going to be interesting. He really has to sack Terry if he has any credibility. On the other hand, it's a bit dramatic to suggest it will spell the end of Terry's international career, as this author says. Capello's strict persona tested in Terry affair
Finally, something for the menacing English tabloid press to get their teeth into.
John Terry, captain of England's national soccer team, through personal indiscretions - the "alleged" affair with an England teammate's, at the time, significant other - has put the stability of England's 2010 World Cup campaign in severe jeopardy.
A near-perfect qualifying record; a top-10 FIFA ranking; and a bookmakers' top-six choice to actually win the World Cup in South Africa ... what could possibly spoil this positive momentum and legitimate good feel factor for England's chances of winning the prize the nation covets beyond all others? Aside from the almighty tragedy of losing the irreplaceable talent of Wayne Rooney, it is simply an undisciplined, self-destructive team spirit.
Knowing the historic off-field antics of English soccer players, it really was just a matter of time before England manager Fabio Capello had his strong, disciplined persona put to the test. As a result of Terry's actions, the mastermind behind England's resurgence as a soccer nation will now have his ability to solve controversies.
The good fortune for English fans is there appears to be no better person to deal with this current debacle than the assured Italian.
Above all else, Capello will need to prioritize what is best for the England team and the only way to do that is to segment both professional and personal issues. His immediate response that he wants to hear directly from Terry to get the truth, is a clear sign he is in control of his thoughts and methods.
It is fair to Terry to have his say, but, at the same time, he should have no illusions that once the information is regurgitated his captain's armband will be gone. There has been much debate in England as to whether this will happen but it will be clear to Capello. If half of the England team have lost respect for Terry as a result of his actions, then he simply cannot lead them. Capello knows this. Anything less would be hypocritical to his own winning ethos.
The issue of whether Terry stays as an English team member will be just as decisive for Capello. Who knows, maybe he will leave him out for a game or two leading up to South Africa? But dropping him as a World Cup player is an extremely unlikely scenario.
Irrespective of his own personal thoughts, Capello has a professional job to do which is to maximize the performance of the England team. In doing so it may lead to a World Cup victory. This is his job and losing his second-best player because of a personal issue, while morally debatable for some, is simply not enough to justify his dismissal.
Meanwhile, the team building issue of the England squad will be trickier as Capello will be unable to control the thoughts and opinions of his players, on such a delicate issue. A gag order on the players will likely be a good starting point. Then, shifting the focus to the professional purpose of why they are representing England will take care of the rest.
It is unrealistic to have a squad of players where everyone respects and likes each other. While Terry will probably be disliked and mistrusted as a person within the squad he will, nevertheless, be respected as a football player. The harsh reality is this will trump all other options or considerations for Capello.
Can he do the job on the field? Answer: yes? Then, he stays.
Which brings us to the harshest part of Capello's dilemma. What about Wayne Bridge, the teammate and supposed best friend of Terry?
Unless he can muster the gonads to forgive Terry - when the majority of us could not - then his international career is ostensibly over, or at least on hold. NFL Season 8-16: -9 Units NCAA Season 5-6-1: -0.81 Units

John Terry, wife declare love for each other after reuniting in Dubai
DISGRACED English soccer star John Terry planted a tender kiss on his wife's lips after she took the serial love-rat ex-Three Lions skipper back again, The Sun reports. The cheating Chelsea ace, 29, then snuggled up on a sunlounger with long suffering mum-of-two Toni, 28, at their five-star Dubai hotel resort. And the pair told the newspaper: "We are so in love." See pictures of John Terry and Toni back together at The Sun Just a fortnight ago he could only have dreamt of such a speedy reconciliation as the storm erupted over his fling with Vanessa Perroncel - the ex-girlfriend of Terry's teammate Wayne Bridge. And just a week ago his football career was turned on its head when he was stripped of the England captaincy. Toni, who had heart-to-heart talks with her husband this week, told The Sun: "We're stronger than ever as a couple." 'So in love'Terry looked like the luckiest man alive yesterday as Toni kissed and hugged him by the pool - at one point tenderly clutching his head to her chest - as their twins Georgie John and Summer Rose played happily beside them. Mother-of-two Toni said: "We're very strong as a couple - always have been. John came over to see me and the kids and enjoy a few days in the hot weather. While this is all going on it's just nice to be together. We are proud of our relationship and so in love." Terry said: "I arrived and my little girl was fast asleep. I gave Toni a kiss and a cuddle. It's always important for us to be together. "The pictures say more than words can say about how we are as a couple. "What me and Toni speak about, no one will ever know. No one will ever get close to knowing about how our life is. We are private people. We know how we feel about each other and that is the main thing. Our relationship has never been knocked down. We're just so in love." Begging for forgivenessYet it hadn't been plain sailing for the disgraced soccer star. After jetting into the blistering Emirate state on Thursday he spent the night begging for forgiveness from heartbroken Toni. The couple shared heated, late night exchanges over his fling with 33-year-old French underwear model Perroncel - the ex-girlfriend of his best friend and fellow England star Bridge, 29. But in the early hours of Friday morning she eventually bowed to his emotional pleas and agreed to make one final go of their marriage, The Sun reported. Yet as they thrashed out their future in the mega plush five-star penthouse suite, she made it clear to him in no uncertain terms this was his one and only last chance. And they wasted no time in showing the world their three-year marriage was back on. They looked every bit the happy couple at the super luxurious Le Royal Meridien complex canoodling in the glorious 25C sunshine. Shamed Terry celebrated victory after his successful mission by first snogging her by the pool. After holding hands while lying on adjoining sun-beds, he rubbed sun cream on her back. The then loved-up looking couple took a romantic stroll down the ultra luxurious complex's private beach. The former Three Lions captain, in Chelsea blue-coloured Abercrombie and Fitch designer swim shorts, then kicked a mini football with his kids on the golden sands.

Ohh the saga conitunes. Most of England wouldn't be to happy with Mr Bridge given Ashley Coles injury problems. The wobbles creeping in the Poms camp with 100 days to go, after much talk about confidence of winning the trophy they once held in 1966....it all looks a distance memory. Viva la french women. WAYNE BRIDGE quit England yesterday but Fabio Capello still hopes to tempt him back into his World Cup squad.
England contacted Bridge yesterday morning after becoming aware that he wanted to end his international career, but were unable to change his mind during several conversations.
Instead Bridge stood firm, claiming his position in Capello’s squad was “untenable and potentially divisive” following revelations that John Terry had an extra-marital affair with Bridge’s former partner, Vanessa Perroncel.
Capello said: “It surprised me, but I respect the decision. The door is always open for him. We have time, there is still three months until I decide my squad for South Africa. I hope Wayne Bridge will be with us at the World Cup, but I respect his decision.”
Capello also had to replace his replacement captain when Terry’s successor Rio Ferdinand was ruled out of Wednesday’s friendly against Egypt by a back injury. Steven Gerrard is expected to take the armband.
England believe Bridge has made the wrong decision, but are also mindful they do not know exactly how he has been feeling since the scandal became public.
The move reignited the backlash against Terry, who was stripped of the captaincy by Capello earlier this month following a string of allegations over his personal life. It is understood that Chelsea captain Terry believes Bridge’s decision has been taken now in an act of revenge and that Bridge has bottled the opportunity to see him face-to-face when England report to their HQ on Sunday.
“I have thought long and hard about my position in the England team in the light of the reporting and events over the last few weeks,” said Bridge in a statement. “It has always been an honour to play for England. However, after careful thought I believe my position in the squad is now untenable and potentially divisive.
SEARCH FOOTBALL for:
“Sadly therefore I feel for the sake of the team and in order to avoid what will be inevitable distractions, I have decided not to put myself forward for selection.
“I have today informed the management of this decision. I wish the team all the very best in South Africa.”
Sources close to Bridge said he did not want to withdraw his services but felt he had been put in an impossible position.
The decision shows the extent to which Bridge is still bitter with former best friend Terry and there will be little chance of any cordiality or a handshake when the pair come face to face for the first time since the tawdry saga unravelled when Manchester City travel to Stamford Bridge tomorrow.
Capello will be at Chelsea before watching the Carling Cup final on Sunday.

yes they dont like anything about england the scots barney. except the £5 billion a year the english give them in subsidies. It's not only the World Cup which is re-igniting Scottish and English animosities. MPs south of the border have been calling for the axing of the Barnett formula, the mechanism which defines the amount of money Scotland receives from the Treasury and which allocates £1,500 more per head of the population to public services in Scotland than in England. SCOTLAND has gained a £76 billion "devolution dividend" since the creation of the Scottish Parliament, as public spending has outstripped tax generated in the country by up to 45 per cent, a controversial new report has found.... David Davies, a Tory MP for Monmouth, and an outspoken critic of devolution said he was "not surprised" by the report. "Both Wales and Scotland are receiving more in government subsidies than they pay in taxation," he said. "If Scotland or Wales decide to leave the union, there will be a price to be paid because England will no longer want to go on subsidising either." http://toque.co.uk/scotl...ion-devolution-dividend
its very cheeky. no derail intended.
