Here are the odds for the second day matches. You may notice some of the same odds from day one - please just select different matches from those you have already selected on day one.

Please post at least two tips with some kind of rationale. Also remember to post the number of units you are staking on each selection. Tips must be posted before the start of the first game of the day. Games start 10:00am Melbourne time (Current time zone offset: UTC/GMT +11 hours).

One post per person please. Please visit the tennis forum to discuss day two matches

1. KARLOVIC, Ivo (CRO) 3.10 - 30 points
2. DAVYDENKO, Nikolay (RUS) 1.37

Lanky croat a decent price, if he gets that arm going and sends down a few bombs can cause problems for anyone

1. HAAS, Tommy (GER) 1.42
2. GASQUET, Richard (FRA) 2.85 - 30 Points

Top young player, Haas in form but on his day Gasquet can beat most of the top seeds. Will be tighter than price suggests

30 pts Hingis to beat Zvonereva @ 1.8

Martinas record here is unbelievable, she has targeted this event and has looked soild in her warm-up tournaments and was not embarrassed by Henin last time out. The draw has been kind to her and she will be right up for this to get her career back on track.

GASQUET, Richard (FRA) 2.85 for 5 Units
seeded 13 here and hes a good odds against a unseeded player

TIPSAREVIC, Janko (SCG) 3.20 for 5 Units
A good young player at good odds and should put up a good fight against Seppi

ZIB, Tomas (CZE) 5.00 for 5 Units
Hes playing Ferrero who is a clay-courter and has a history of going out early in the Australian Open

DANIILIDOU, Eleni (GRE) 5.25 for 3 Units
Has a big serve and could cause an upset

BOGOMOLOV Jr, Alex (USA) 8.00 for 2 Units
Has done well in the past few years here and is at good odds

PRATT, Nicole (AUS) 8.00 for 2 Units
She is on home soil and will fight it out to the end against Pierce

ISTOMIN, Denis (UZB) 16.00 for 1 Unit
He probably has no chance but it is worth it at 16 dollar odds

Already posted in Day 1

CHELA, Juan (ARG) 2.35 for 10 Units
I saw him last year at the Australian Open and he pushed Hewitt to 4 sets. Dont know to much about Murray, so ill go for Chela

PHILIPPOUSSIS, Mark (AUS) 3.10 for 5 Units
He's my favourite player so i have to go for him, also its on home soil and hes due for some good form

That is all Banana Cow Banana Cow Banana

5pts Cho, Yoon Jeoong to bt Clijsters @ 7.5 (smallest price in the world!! 12's elsewhere!)

Speculative selection. Kim struggling with hip injury, if she tries to push it, she could become unstook here against this useful player

Charlie and Gemz - please add two new tips from the list (other than those you have already selected on the first day of the competition).

Gemz - please provide some rationale for your selections.

1. J-C Ferrero @ 1.17- 40 units. Fabulous record here over the years and another bold bid expected. should brush aside Zib with minimum of fuss.

2. Coria @ 1.25- 30 units. Without doubt better on clay but should have enough about him early on to see off the Romanian. could be worth laying later on but too much class for Hanescu.

From my other thread were I liked HAAS and CORIA, I would like to add an additional two selections for day two.

DAVYDENKO 5th seed in the tournament has some value at 1.37 against a tall croatian. Quater Finalist here last time here should win this. Davydenko has won both encounters on fast surfaces as well.

DAVYDENKO 20 units at 1.37.

Nathalie DECHY from France was a Semi-Finalsist here last year was a sound performer in 2005. At 1.30 against a Zi Yan who was a Quater Finalist in US Open will put up good fight.

DECHY 20 units at 1.30.

1. GROSJEAN, Sebastian (FRA) 1.37
2. PHILIPPOUSSIS, Mark (AUS) 3.10

5 Units on Philippoussis. Big Serve, Always a Chance at Home.

1. HAAS, Tommy (GER) 1.42
2. GASQUET, Richard (FRA) 2.85

10 Units on Haas. Beat Federer recently and has played well here before.

So what happens if you make a bet on day 1's play, and the match isnt going to be played until the day after?
Just make additional bets and use left over units and the original bets are only counted as day 1 and not day 2?

Ill make 2 new ones just to be sure

15 Units on HAAS, Tommy (GER) 1.42
The guy is in red hot form and has a lot of people backing him so I see this as a safer bet

10 units on HINGIS, Martina (SUI) 1.80
Hingis is hot, she partnered with Anna K, and Id love to see her succeed.
Great rationale I know Razz
Plus shes coming back from a long return, shes well rested and determined to succeed

I too will re-place some of the tips which overlapped from day 1 just to clarify. The odds for some are better too! Laughing

1.

TIPSAREVIC, Janko (SCG) 10 UNITS @ 3.20
over
SEPPI, Andreas (ITA)

- One Tournament doesnt make a player! Furthermore went through qualifying in Sydney so wont be "as fresh". Best of 5 Sets is a whole
new ball game

2.

JACKSON, Jamea (USA) 40 UNITS @ 1.80
over
TANASUGARN, Tamarine (THA)

- I'm not sure who Jackson is, but I do know that Tanasugarn has struggled big time over the past few years and is a shadow of her
past self! Her movement on the court is also atrocious!!

3.

HANESCU, Victor (ROM) 10 UNITS @ 4.00
over
CORIA, Guillermo (ARG)

- Hanescu is a fine player and I am suspect of Coria on any surface besides clay

Good to see so much support for MARTINA HINGIS, I'm looking forward to seeing more of her! She tops my list with 15 UNITS at 1.8.

Following the Maritna theme (and no other reason except she's the outsider!) 5 UNITS on MARTINA SUCHA at 2.65.

MYSKINA looks a certainty against an unknown opponent so I'll have 10 UNITS at 1.15

ARNAUD CLEMENT has the experience to do well so i'll haev 10 UNITS at 1.67.

Finally the Dutch are riding high after yesterdays darts success so 10 UNITS on RAEMON SLUITER AT 1.40 looks a good idea.

thats enough guesses for today.

okay 2/2 - 100% from yesterday and today's tips will yet again be another 100%

2. CASTANO, Catalina (COL) 3.00 - 15 Units

Good player sold baseliner but has a good serve and consistant playing ablility to overturn a very average player

2. KIM, Kevin (USA) 1.90 - 15 Units

Good player even match but needs a little bit of luck. But on his day he can do well and I expect 4 sets

HRBATY, Dominik (SVK) 1.08 -15 Units

Banker and I never goes for thses usually - on good form and expect striaght sets

Okay after a bit of confusion i have figured out that 2 of my picks from today aren't actually being played until day 2. So obviously i have to stick with the same bets.
Stupid DropKick, I mean Dokic ripped me off 40 units. I should make her pay for that.
So hopefully I can bounce back with 2 wins on day 2.
The same two from yesturday -

HAAS, Tommy (GER) 1.40 @ 45 units

After beating the unbeateable federer and playing quite well, he should easily beat his first round oponent.

ALMAGRO, Nicolas (ESP) 4.55 @ 15 units
Having a dig at a chance of some better odds. Almagro has beaten current opponent in previous matches.

HRBATY, Dominik (SVK) 1.08

His steady game here will be far too much for his opponent, who has very little experience and only one small weapon.

10 units

FERRERO, Juan Carlos (ESP) 1.17

Juan has found how to play on other courts bar clay recently and will have too much here.

5 units

Vliegen @1.5 - 20 Units
Christopher is a pale imitation of Oliver and so in form Vliegen will win this one relatively comfortably.

Luczak @1.65 - 20 Units
Minar has had a shocking start to 2006 while Luczak has been impressive. Luczak also playing at home. Banker.

S. Mirza @1.42 - 7.5 Units
She is far too good to go out in the first round and should have too much fire power for the likes of Azarenka.

Mayer @1.45 - 7.5 Units
Out of form Lee will struggle to come to terms with Mayers booming serve.

That is all.

Don't hate, appreciate...

Cara Black @ 5.25 10 UNITS
Has more experience than her opponent - her 7th open. No pressure or expectations. Great Odds!

Amy Frazier @ 3.15 8 UNITS
Hard nosed veteran. If she uses all her experience, should beat her opponent. Good Odds!

Juan Carlos Ferrero @ 1.17 2 UNITS
All these outside bets, I need to get off 0 and on the scoreboard Wink

Banana Banana Guitar

Day 1 was pretty good Very Happy imo.

1. CLEMENT, Arnaud (FRA) 1.67
14 UNITS
Runner up and solid performances here some years back. He doesn't want to make it 3 1st rd exits in a row. His opponent has not made it past the 1st rd ever. Form of recent weeks also favors Clement in this one 2-2, compared to 0-2.

2. ZVONAREVA, Vera (RUS) 1.95
6 UNITS
I chose to go with the head and not with the heart on this one Embarassed Vera is value considering her last two solid performances here and is not bad looking either. Should be a close match. I'm happy either way.

2. GASQUET, Richard (FRA) 2.85
5 UNITS
Represents good value here. I'm hoping Tommy had a couple of late nights after his Roger win and his preparation dis-rupted as a result. Razz

2. MAYER, Florian (GER) 1.45
35 UNITS
Florian wants to move up the rankings and needs to beat opponents such as Lee. He should do so as Lee's singles record is not the best.

HINGIS, Martina (SUI) 1.80 10 UNITS

There is where she gets back into the swing of things. Time to resurect the career, and to start it off a win over Zvonareva.

KRAJICEK, Michaella (NED) 1.25 20 UNITS

Coming off a win just recently in the Moorilla Hobart International and finished second last year in the open. Should have no problems with early opponents.

PHILIPPOUSSIS, Mark (AUS) 3.10 3 UNITS

Going with the local boy here. Hopefully emotions will be enough to get him past this early opponent. Nice odds too.

All bets are one unit ($50) unless otherwise noted.

Not a very good day 1 for me.
I think I'll come back until the end.
I calculated my units after day 1 and I think I have 59 left.

Please do not consider the bets that I made for day 1 and count for day 2.
I'll do it all over now for day2:

1.MURRAY, Andrew (GBR) 1.65 5 units
He has all the British nation behind and in Australia he will feel like home.

2. ROCHUS, Olivier (BEL) 1.20 10 units
Olivier is wll placed in ATP rankings at the beginning of this year.

3. KRAJICEK, Michaella (NED) 1.25 30 units
Michaella is in top form.

See you.
