We'll the Mighty Dragons are up against the Cowboys again this weekend. After a loss a few weeks back against these fellas i think we can rebound on Sunday against them. Top side for sure the old cowboys but i think the Dragons outfit will be to strong. I don't think this one will be a blow out as some suggest but i nice 10point win would be a nice ending to this game. The dell to score twice is my prediction.

good win, very workmanlike........BUT fuck me have you blokes got the officials on side or what let me elaborate 10 minutes in BLATANT forward pass resulting in 6 points.Down the other end cowboys attacking in the second half in your 20,LESS blatant forward pass called back..touch judges on side there in te hsecond half bowen nabs a grubber and simultaneously boyd knocks the ball out..clear goal line dropout and cowboys launch on attack...NOPE 20 metre restart video ref in dragons clobber as well it seemed ref also ruled a ridiculous knock on call in teh second half, clearly cowboys wronged and another attack opp lost..thats the ref too..you had fuckign 21 men at times chase and i havent listed them all,JT wsnt teh only perplexed there were prob at least two other wrong calls for sure. better side won but not by much imo..these decisions were serious cock-ups imo but take the two points you were marginally the better side i suppose....you will get your come uppance later on Winning isnt everything... ITS THE ONLY THING!!

Bennets always done well with getting officials to favor his side. If the Dragons win this year its by default nah that was a very good win

We had the bye last week but still on top of the ladder by our selves We are up against a under performing Warriors side which i thought were going to be the surprise pack of 09' but they have been playing very badly. We have to travel to NZ so its going to be a tough one i reckon. I still think we can get the win with our Origin players back in. Dragons by 10

Top win against the Warriors and bye bye to them aswell as finals footy is takin away from my so called "pick" for 09'. Peaked to early and came crashing down the kiwi boys did. anyway Dragons cemented there spot up at number 1 on the ladder after that top win on the weekend. The loss to the dogs hurt you boys diva and mp and i think with a kick in the arse you boys will be back on top this week or the next. I really hope we have not peaked already because i have seen time and time again come finals footy we are farked. Bennett is at the helm and i hope he guides them threw nicely.

Can we beat the raiders toady? We have not won against them in nearly 10 years! I think we should break the hoodoo today. Article is below. St George Illawarra Dragons face Raiders hoodoo at Canberra Stadium By Bonny Symons-Brown August 15, 2009 It's the curse of Canberra and it's plagued St George Illawarra for almost a decade.
They may be the runaway NRL competition leaders, but the Dragons will be seeking their first win at chilly Canberra Stadium since 2000 when they take on the Raiders on Saturday night.
And the stats get worse for Wayne Bennett's frontrunners.
St George Illawarra has only managed to defeat Canberra once in their last 10 clashes.
Canberra isn't playing up the hoodoo, but it could find itself relying on it if the runaway train that is the Dragons gets away to their usual fast start.
Raiders coach David Furner said his 13th-placed side was keen to right the wrongs of last week's loss to the high-flying Bulldogs in Sydney.
"We spoke about last week where our first half wasn't up to our standard, we missed some opportunities and we weren't patient," Furner said.
"St George Illawarra is a side that if we were to have the same mentality there, they could put some points on us.
"So we've got to make sure that we start fast and aggressive."
Much has changed for the Dragons since their last head-to-head against Canberra back in round 18, 2008 - most notably the arrival of super coach Wayne Bennett.
Furner said keeping the Dragons in check would be all about mastering the little things.
"We've talked about ticking the boxes," he said.
"We've got to make sure that the little aspects of the game, being aggressive, working the ground, line speed, you have to be good.
"You don't want to give St George too many opportunities, they are a very patient side and they are the in-form side in the competition."
While the Dragons got lucky at the NRL judiciary with Justin Poore cleared to play, they will still be without suspended duo Matt Prior and Beau Scott.
Centre Matt Cooper is also in doubt with a heel injury.
The Raiders have their own injury woes after centre Joel Monaghan was ruled out with bone bruising to his left knee.
He will be replaced by Joel Thompson and second-rower Trevor Thurling joins the 17 as well.
Furner said he would also be looking at Joe Picker and Tom Learoyd-Lahrs to play on the left-hand side but a final starting line-up would not be decided until game day.
"I know (Learoyd-Lahrs) is keen because he had the opportunity to play in the State of Origin, enjoyed the experience, and then only played 25 minutes against Penrith (in Round 19)," Furner said.
"So he's looking forward to it and we need that go-forward, we need that aggression, and I think Tommy will give us that."

Raiders outfit pull off upset of the year beating Dragons 24-12
August 15, 2009
Fired-up Canberra managed the upset of the season, coming from 12-0 down to defeat NRL competition leaders St George Illawarra 24-12 in a bruising clash at Canberra Stadium on Saturday night.
The Raiders scored three tries to two in what was one of the seasons's most outstanding - and fiery - games of the year.
Despite getting away to an early lead, the Dragons were unable to improve their poor record in Canberra, where they haven't won since 2000.
In a low-scoring first half, Dragons winger Brett Morris scored the only try and five-eighth Jamie Soward extended the visitors' lead to 6-0 with a penalty goal in the 32nd minute.
But while the scoreboard attendant might have been idle, the referees certainly weren't.
The high-intensity clash bubbled over at the 18-minute mark, when a tackle involving Raiders pivot Terry Campese and Dragons second-rower Dean Young escalated into a brawl that saw Young sin-binned for 10 minutes.
Already on thin ice, moments later Campese found himself sent for a spell on the sidelines for arguing with the referee.
Dragons second-rower Jeremy Smith also copped a sin-binning in the 72nd minute for a late shot on a Raiders opponent.
Earlier, a nasty head clash between Raiders lock Josh Miller and Dragons prop Michael Weyman in the 21st minute stopped play as Weyman was knocked senseless and had to be stretchered off against his former club.
St George Illawarra fullback Darius Boyd took his side to a 12-0 lead with a try five minutes after the break, but it would be the last time the Dragons added to their score.
Three minutes later, Canberra's try avalanche began with back-to-back four-pointers to centre Jarrod Croker and winger Daniel Vidot and, five minutes later, prop Dane Tilse.
Campese was in top form with the boot, converting each try and managing three penalty goals in the 62nd, 72nd and 77th minutes.
Campese described the match as one of the best his side had played all year.
"The way our forwards were playing ... there is no greater feeling than playing behind the guys when they're playing so well," he said.
Canberra coach David Furner said positive talk at the club all week had shown on the field.
"We stuck to the plan, we were aggressive, we played some really good footy," he said.
"We didn't talk about bashing them, we just thought that we would need to stop their go-forward.
"They've got some very big boppers in the middle and plus their back three, they can get a lot of momentum, a lot of metres there, so part of our plan was to play them in their half."
Dragons coach Wayne Bennett said his side was out-disciplined by their opponents.
"We were in that for 50-odd minutes and we did everything that was required of us too but 10 minutes of madness ... I thought the two tries back-to-back were the ones that really hurt us," Bennett said.
In the casualty ward, Raiders prop Scott Logan has sustained a suspected fractured cheekbone.

Big game this Friday night against the Broncos but i think we can beat them at WIN. Its going to be a tough game because Locky played great last weekend and if they play like how they played in that 2nd half then it will be hard for us. Soward should be firing and if our toe at wide is on there game then we should get the 2 points. This is vital this game and would boost our confidence after that loss against the raiders last weekend.

I went out last night and got so blind then to have the dragons loose i drowned my sorrows and went clubbing. At work now and feel doubley shit. Boys are givin it too me today..Barstad Bronocos!!!! I have no idea what happend last night fellas..Missed oppurtunity after missed oppurtunity. This is really going to hurt us phisically and mentaly and i think we are in a bit of trouble. Too loose against the raiders were ok but not the broncos. Bennett will have to really get up them or something because it was a little piss poor effort last night. Broncos looked good tho.
