I'm a big fan of the Horror genre and these days you need to really search the horror web sites to find some gems out there, which I have been doing and have somehow managed to rack up about 30-40 movies to watch and I've slowly started getting through them now. Any recommendations? Odds are I've prob seen them or they are in the "to-do" list, but gimme some more to load up on!
Some good ones I've seen recently:
Feast trilogy - 1 is awesome along the lines of From Dusk Till Dawn, and it pokes fun at itself. 2 & 3 are so heinous and laughable they have to be seen to be believed especially for the shock moments, worth it just to see the wtf moment at the end of part 3.
Malevolence & Bereavement - 2 movies out of a trilogy not yet complete. Malevolence was done it 2004, and Bereavement this year which is the prequel to Malevolence. The former is slasher in the form of Halloween etc, the latter sets it up. Not bad.
Insidious - Scariest PG movie I have ever seen. My girlfriend still see's the monster i her dreams! Very original plot twist too.
The Clinic - Awesome Australian movie and the late Andy Whitfields last piece of work. Along the lines of Wolf Creek and Snowtown.
Straw Dogs - Remake of the classic Dustin Hoffman movie (which I haven't seen yet). Pretty intense thriller in a hick town.
Melancholia - More dram than Horror, but somehow fits in the genre. Very slow, but picturesque movie.

depends on your idea of horror... my twenty-year-old has been a horror collector since she was thirteen..gets masses from Amazon...may be available here... she recommended "The Hills Have Eyes" parts 1 & 2... when she said Nightmare on Elm St I said nearly everyone has seen it... personally I like the Maneater series...my idea of horror ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Hot Pies and Mustard

Melancholia is the most boring movie ever made.. very slow is an understatement the only time I would ever watch that one is if I am having trouble falling asleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz really liked Insidious tho if you wanna check out a great horror flick you should check out a Thai movie called Shutter, that one is great just don't go for the hollywood remake with the mighty ducks guy, that version sucked balls. Other cool horror movies: 30 Days of Night, The Descent, What Lies Beneath, Mirrors hopefully a few u haven't seen there, also The Ring and The Grudge but guessing you've seen em.. if you have it's worth checking the japanese versions out they're even more creepy lol btw u mentioned Snow Town, that's a pretty disturbing flick bro.. Cold Dog got me to watch that one about 6 mths back, there were at least 3 moments where both me and my wife were like "w.t.f....??" lol

Snow Town was pretty damn disturbing. I've got a whole lot of really good underground ones so when I've watched them I'll let you know whats good.

Insidious was decent for sure, but not as scary as I thought it'd be. Perhaps it was because I had friends hyping it up and the expectations were high, but it was good.
Never seen Snow Town, but CD and Thumb keep telling me I must, so I'll have to watch it some time. The only reason why I don't watch more horror flicks... my wife doesn't like em and the kids will have nightmares. I don't think it'd be a good idea to show a 5 year old Insidious. LoL
On another note, I saw the movie Teeth, please don't ever watch that movie... PLEASE. Unless you're intrigued by the idea of vagina dentata, don't watch that shit.

Haha, yeah a lot of the slightly dodgy ones I read up on first to see how f'd up they are. Hence why I will never see that one, the Human Centipede movies and A Serbian Film (go read up on this one, it's a doozy).

What a loser movie. I will look into A Serbian Film, sounds dodgy already. LOL

Yeah, just not interested in either of these. Watching one guy rape newborns and another guy wrap his dick in barbed wire and rape a woman just aren't my thing. From what I've read, A Serbian Film has the former and Human Centipede 2 has the latter. I don't consider them horror. Just the workings of a truly fucked-up mind.

There's a 30 Days of Night part 2? actually I just checked on IMDB sounds kinda dodgy, 4.4/10 ave score and all different actors in it usually is a bad sign for a sequel I didn't mind The Descent 2 - when I saw there was a sequel I didn't watch it for ages, expecting it to be crap.. maybe the low expectations helped but I kinda liked it! If you liked The Descent you should check out this movie, Pandorum it's pretty good also http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1188729/

I have only mainly seen the popular horror flicks, but Jeepers Creepers (the first one)was pretty good IMO (although some say it is not scary). I haven't seen Evil Dead for many years, but it scared the shit out of me as a youngster, not sure how it has stood the test of time. I loved Cujo as a youngster, but saw it recently (it had been many years), and it is one that has not stood the test of time. I thought Zombieland was good. Halloween is a classic, as is Friday the 13th. Alien and it's sequals were fantastic, I found the original quite scary as a youngster. One I have not seen but has been talked about by a mate of mine is one called Martyrs, he reckons it is quite disturbing, has anyone else seen it? I've read up a fair bit about Martyr's but can't bring my self to watch it, it sounds absolutely brutal. Reading up might be worse though, coz I pretty much make up the images in mind. Another couple of movies I haven't brought myself to watch are High Tension and I Spit on Your Grave the original and remake. Saw a recent b-grade horror called Splinter, this is what a horror movie should be, recommend it for a low budget movie. The Tremors trilogy is also a classic I need to check out again. Evil Dead is still ok, but Army of Darkness was my favourite. There are making the remake of Evil Dead, not sure if it will be any good as a chick plays the lead character Ash.
