I know someone who swears by this.........

Whenever you are looking for a result on the internet have a 'lucky' piece of paper nearby.

When you refresh the page for the latest score, hold the paper over your man/team's score. Then, slowly lift the far side of the paper and gradually lift it until you have sneaked a look at the score, where you will find it has changed in your favour.

The beauty of this technique is its flexibility. You can use a book, magazine or newspaper, and it can also work on teletext.

The only required ingredient is your assurance that the chosen paper is 'lucky'.

watching the game on nba.com gamecast and praying with Wayne to the ol mighty Jetsman, who can be good or bad to us, depending on how much we beg him to help our losing team come back

that, and Salami (wayne will get this one) toilet

I sorta do this when I'm playing poker. Once all the chips are in the middle pre-flop, I minimize the window. The next thing I see is a message "You have finished x" or a nice big healthy stack. No need to stress myself out by watching lady luck do her thing.
